We had another great reunion this year. It is so much fun to see the kids every year and how they have grown. It is also fun to see how the number of Dunham great-grandkids keeps growing when we thought it wouldn’t! We keep adding surprise babies! Our first reunion was the summer of 2001. We had five greats with one on the way. Ten years later there are twelve! And some of the cousins haven’t started their families yet! I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
This year we met at a campground near Weatherford that has little cabins and a pool, playground and big meeting rooms. It is close enough to come back into town if needed (say – when your car breaks down like ours did!) but far enough away to feel like you are getting away. Well – for us. We now have cousins that live out of state for the first time - Washington and Mississippi – so this was truly a reunion.
There was plenty of hula hooping …
plenty of jump-roping …
maybe even some from the ‘grown ups’ …
There was worship time with youth song-leaders, communion and an awesome prayer …
There was time at the pool, at the playground, water gun fights and more. There were even some times of relaxation …
We also may have celebrated someone’s birthday …
It was an awesome time and I can’t wait until next year. I love this tradition and I hope our kids kids will still be reunioning when they are our age. Wouldn’t that be a sight!
