Happy Birthday to the youngest BIG BROTHER

Collin, you are FOUR today!  You have been waiting for this day for a while.  They celebrated your birthday at school on the 17th because you wouldn’t be in school for your actual birthday – and that was a little confusing for you.  Every day after that you asked, “Is this day my birthday?”  Now – it is finally here!

You are so big.  You never let anyone call you little.  For any reason.  You are big and that’s final.  Because you are a big brother, you now think you should be older than Cole, Macie and Cameron.  It makes you very upset when they tell you that you will never be older than them.  It makes you sad.  But you are thrilled to know that you will always be older than Cy.  That makes me happy.  You were always meant to be a big brother and Cy loves you more than you know.  God definitely has a plan for you in this role.

I look back at some of your pictures (all of you kids, really) and it amazes me how much you look like each other at different times and how much you look like no one but yourselves at other times.  Look at this sweet baby we had four years ago …

You are such an amazing boy.  So creative and imaginative.  You are forever pretending (just ‘tending – as you say) to be Batman, Indiana Jones, Ninja Warrior, and more.  You are kind to your little brother and tolerant of your older ones.  Finding your place has been hard, because you are stuck in the middle of the big school-age kids and our very tiny baby brother.   Sometimes you get very angry and that makes it hard to express your actual feelings.  You are passionate in love and passionate in anger.  We can’t imagine you any other way.  Your are perfect and we love you bunches.

Happy Fourth Birthday Angel!  We love you to the moon and back!
