The culmination of Cameron’s Cub Scouting career was this evening at Pappy Elkins park in Dalworthington Gardens. The Arrow of Light is the highest award a Cub Scout can receive. It’s the Eagle Scout of Cub Scouting. The parents make two arrows representing all the awards the boys have earned over the years – one to keep and one to break symbolizing the end of Cub Scouts. There is a ceremony performed by a Boy Scout group and all the boys are welcomed into Boy Scouts when they cross over during the bridging portion of the ceremony. It was a beautiful evening and, surprisingly, an emotional one.
Here are the boys from his den that have been together for two years. They have become great friends and have worked so hard to accomplish their goals.
Here are some ceremony pictures …
Todd and I are so proud of all that Cameron has accomplished in scouting. It shows a great amount of determination to keep this up – it is hard work!
We love you baby!
