Law Enforcement is a big job

That was the name of the achievement that the scouts were working toward last tuesday night. We went to the Dalworthington Gardens police/fire station for a tour. Now - it was supposed to be of the station itself and to learn more about police - but we actually ended up outside the whole time learning all about the fire truck and fire safety. It was also very interesting. DWG is such a small municipality that the officer who spoke with us was a fireman, a policeman and also a trained EMT for the ambulance. He had a patch/badge that showed he was certified for all three jobs - pretty neat.

Here is a picture of their brand new firetruck. It is three months old and cost $350,000 dollars!
All the kids came with us this time and here they are completely enthralled with all they were seeing and hearing
Here is a picture of all the boys in front of the truck
Here are the boys IN the truck - they all got to go for a ride with lights and sirens going
Here are the sisters (yes - that is my daughter making faces at he camera)
We had such an awesome time - the kids want to know when they can have a tour of Papa Rick's fire station, too. They want to go so bad - it has been a long time!
