Fourteen

Cameron, you are fourteen today.  The time is flying by.  You are closer to driving, high school and graduation, and leaving for college – and it kills me.  You are continually successful in your educational endeavors and are in the top 5% of your eighth grade class.  High School choice has been a challenge for us as you have two distinguished magnet schools courting you, in addition to the fact that we camped out at AISD administration to get  you into Arlington High School.  We will be making a decision soon, one that will (hopefully) set you up for scholarship and admission to the college of your choice.

You have grown, literally, in leaps and bounds since Christmas.  You were not quite looking me in the eye and now I am looking up at you.  It happened overnight, it seems.  You are closer to daddy’s height than mine.  You are still very handsome and the girls seem to be paying more attention to you.  You tell us you aren't that interested, but I see a tide changing!

I look forward to the plans God has for you.  Daddy and I can’t wait to see the man you will become.  We love you – Happy Birthday!
