We decided to put Cole in Upward Football this season. His best friend Nathan is also going to play. Although the season hasn’t started, they had a little mini camp. He was so excited to be with Nathan. (They don’t go to the same school, so they only see each other at church activities or play dates)
Every practice they start and end with a little devotional. The memory verse they were to remember for camp was
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.
They also earned stars during the week that each have a meaning:
Blue: effort – Even with our effort we all say and do the wrong things.
Orange: leadership – (we can’t remember what this is for exactly)
Yellow: sportsmanship – God wants you on his team!
Gray: offense – Jesus is the way to win!
Red: defense – We should turn and run to God!
White: Christlikeness – We should run with God!
Cole earned the following stars during camp – orange, yellow, blue and white! We are so proud of him.
We can’t wait to see what the season brings! Hopefully a lot of fun, some new friends and a great influence from coaches who truly care!
