Blue and Gold

Cameron had his annual Blue and Gold Banquet on saturday. It is the birthday of Cub Scouting and the ceremony that all the boys earn their rank badge for the year. The theme this year was 'Knights of the Round Table!' We had some amazing decorations this year. We also had double the boys in our pack so we had to improvise on seating and use the entire family life center AND the atrium at church. It really looked great.
All the boys had awards attached to shields, they also did their own table decorations and some posters for the walls.
Here is Cameron and his buddy Lucas. They were the only boys from his den able to make this year. There were some illnesses and conflicting schedules preventing the other boys from being there.
We also had entertainment. A local renaissance guild of some kind came in costume and had all kinds of props and showed the boys some fight moves. It was pretty crazy.
They were not pretending or holding back - they were fighting for real. They were loud, tired and exhausted in the end.
Overall it was a nice evening with our friends and family and Cameron's last Blue and Gold because he will crossover into Boy Scouts next month! We have had an awesome journey these past four years and Todd and I are so proud of his commitment to scouting.
Cameron, you are such a joy and growing up to be an amazing young man. Keep it up and you will go far in life! We love you lots and are so proud of you!
