One of our favorite Cub Scout activities is Bob's Big Event. It is this huge outdoor event put on by all of the Boy Scout troops in town. We had such a big day planned that we went first thing so we could make sure to get all of the activities in before the rain or our time to leave. All of the kids get to participate so it makes it fun for everyone.
One of the first places we had to go try was the rope bridge. The group that put it out calls it a monkey bridge. All of the kids walked it last year - even Collin. He was too afraid this year. He did remember that his Aunt Kelly had helped him 'lasterday' and that he was fine to do it another time.

There was a sling shot area. Collin enjoyed that.

Cameron really got into the sling shot. He was trying his best to knock over one of the targets - a little plastic dinosaur.

Macie, who usually just wants to look pretty, tried pretty hard on the sling shot as well.

After the sling shot, the kids went to the knife throwing and the tomahawk throwing. I didn't get too many pics of those because I was trying to make sure Collin was safely out of the way during most of the throwing. I also wanted to make sure he didn't throw
his knife at someone else!

Then we headed to the human Foosball court. It is this big fenced-in area with ropes and sliding pipes and a huge beach ball thing. You have to stay in your position, only able to slide left or right, just like Foosball. It looked really hard to me.

The weather started to turn pretty quickly, so we headed to archery and BB guns next. Those activities are usually only available at council events at campsites that are hours away. I am thankful they send the approved range-trained people out here for this event. It makes it nice for the boys to have a chance at those activities somewhere else besides camp!

Cole was happy to be old enough to try the BB gun this year. He even hit the target!!!

Before we left, we made sure to go say HI to the Indian. He is our friend from the Troop sponsored by our church and he also is the Indian that comes to SBS every year for Thanksgiving. They love to see him in a different place than normal. And - they are so funny because they act surprised that he knows who we are!!

A great time was had by all - especially when we left to go have pizza at Cici's!!!
