Todd had gone into work early that morning and met me at the doctor's office. This is the only picture he allowed me to take - none inside the building - he said I was embarrassing.Anyway - we waited for what seemed like forever and finally got called back to the sonogram area. They now have a big screen TV on the wall that shows everything so we were able to watch it all without having to turn our heads and stare at the little screen. We had asked the lady if she wouldn't mind keeping the gender a secret from us and write it down in an envelope I had brought so we could take it home and open it with the kids together. That was hard. Todd really wanted to know right away and it would have been so easy to peek at the big screen - but we didn't. However - we did get to see all the little parts and that everything is right where it should be and that there were no markers for anything other than a perfect baby. The head was down and facing the back so it took forever to get a face shot and there was no cooperation for a profile shot at all. The baby moved alot and we saw the mouth move over and over like it was talking (totally made me think it was a girl!) It was really neat.
After the doctor took a look at everything - he let us know all is as well as it could be and sent us on our way. Todd went home, I went to pick up the kids and we immediately sat down and opened the envelope. Macie could hardly contain herself. She didn't even want to be the one to open it - she let Cameron and Cole do it.
This is what they saw ...
The boys started hooting and hollering, Todd and I pretty much assumed it would be a boy from the beginning, Macie (bless her heart) tried to stay strong and happy - but she just couldn't. She broke down and had her moment for about an hour and then was fine. I think she is on the road to excited. She has felt the baby move a few times and that is a big thrill for her!So - I have tried to upload the video a few times - but it won't. It is probably for the best, though. Macie wouldn't want everyone to see her little moment.
A few stats - the baby weighed 1 pound exactly and was 10.2 inches long!
