Weekend Fun

Our weekend was incredibly fun - despite the fact it did not go as originally planned. Our original plans for the weekend were to attend our Family Retreat (planned by church) in Oklahoma at the same camp that the kids attended this summer. However - Cole missed every single day of school last week due to fever (he was diagnosed with strep throat on monday and then his fever kept coming back and getting increasingly higher. he got a virus on top of the strep - poor baby) Anyway - we thought it best not to travel to Oklahoma for camping.

When the kids realized we weren't going camping - they remembered that it was the weekend for the Ovarian Cancer walk that we usually do every year. So - at the very last minute we decided to head to Grapevine at 7 AM on saturday morning. I am so glad we did. It is such a blessing to be a part of something so important for Ovarian Cancer Research. We walk as a family in the group celebrating the life of Gayle Lawson (my mother's Best Friend) and a family friend of over 30 years.

Here we are bright and early. This is the first year since we started that Todd was unable to come with us. (Cole was mad because he was told he was going to have to ride most of the way. He really wanted to run/walk the entire time)

Let the Race begin! Cameron likes to run so he and Elijah ran with Lance (Gayle's oldest child) and they ran/jogged the entire thing. I am not quite ready to run the whole time. Maybe next year.
