Our First Day

PREFACE: All of these pictures were taken after school today. I took my traditional - in front of the house, in front of the tree, with the teacher/in the classroom - pictures with my 35 mm camera. I couldn't chance having to take the pictures over and over again because my digital camera is not working right. That being said - here's the details of the day!

Sweet Macie. She was up at 6:25 AM willingly, but not happily. She took her time getting dressed and lingered over breakfast (cinnamon rolls - her favorite) We had laid out our clothes the night before and she even made her lunch: Vienna sausages, mac-n-cheese, oranges, cheez-its and a capri sun. Her snack for the day was apples. When we picked her up she said she was starving because she only had time to eat her meat - nothing else! She was digging in her lunch before we even got out of the parking lot! She met a new friend, Reagan (her desk-mate) and went to Spanish and PE today (that is why she has tennis shoes instead of her super-cute Mary Janes!) Oh - and she picked pinky tails for her hair-do!

Super Sweet Cameron. He was up and dressed before I ever even got out of bed! That's right, folks, he came out of the bathroom at 6:15 ready to walk out the door. He gave me a hug and said, "I am so excited Mom!!" He had also laid out his clothes and made his own lunch the night before (PBJ, pretzels, peaches and capri sun - granola bar for snack) He makes me laugh because in all his haste and excitement he forgets things like his backpack or his lunch - he would just walk right out without them! Anyway - he was the second person in his classroom this morning and it turns out his teacher (who was there) was very ill and needing to leave. He said ok - see ya later mom! I asked if he wanted to go to Macie's class and then come back to see if a sub had come and he said he was fine. When I went back to check on him he had picked the middle desk in the middle row! Such the Nerd - I love it! Oh - he also said this when we first got out of the car ... Everyone is wearing the same thing as me!!! (he he - that made me laugh) He had Music and PE today
And - here they are ACTING sweet. They both said they had a wonderful day. Macie even said she liked the school and it wasn't even hard! Cameron spent some of the day organizing his supplies and his work binder - that was fun for him - the third grade is real big on responsibility for their own things and writing down assignments and such.

After school we decided to fore go the traditional ice cream cone for the first day and went the Chuck E Cheese route instead. They had been saving all their tickets from the summer and we promised that we would take them once more before school started and we completely missed that boat! So - we had pizza at 4:15 (they both ate three pieces) and a heavy/healthy snack before bed. And - we spent almost 1000 tickets (between the three of them) on JUNK!! But - they loved it and had a great time so it was worth it! We hope tomoorow goes just as well!!
