This girl.
This girl could hardly contain herself this week. Ms. Megan, her ballet teacher, asked Macie if she would like to go to Lewisville with her this week to purchase her first pair of pointe shoes! So – we made a date and took a road trip to the awesomest (macie’s word) dance store around – and shopped!!
There were leotards for miles, pointe shoe chandeliers as decoration, and of course – we tried on a Yumiko! (too big)
After we tried on several new things and added a few to her bucket!! (a new leo, new canvas ballet shoes, shoulder shrug, sweatshirt, cover-up, hair accessories and more) we got down to the real reason we were there – POINTE SHOES!!
She heard some instruction on how they needed to be worn, what she should describe regarding how they feel, how short she should keep her toenails to avoid bruising, and more. She must have tried on ten pair of shoes. Then re-tried and re-tried to find the perfect pair. And – she did! < and doesn’t she look awesome up on her toes FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! >
She is one step closer to being a ballerina for life!!!
Macie – we are SO proud of you. Your hard work is paying off and you are flourishing as a dancer. You are growing as a young lady, as well. Your grace and poise are amazing. We can’t wait to see what this new phase of dance does for you – and we can’t wait to see you dance!! We love you – Mom and Dad
